In 1997 I started creating collages on plexiglas. I called these works reverse collages*. Unlike traditional collages, which build up from the bottom, a reverse collage is done on plexiglas from the front to back. I often etch imagery into the plexiglas as well. I also use acrylic paint which gives the feel of Victorian glass painting. The other media includes wax, sandpaper, wire and plastic.
*I believe I was the first to use the term reverse collage. If you know of an ealrier reference, please let me know.
